Cooling engineering is what sets NARRA1 apart: Digital Edge made this Biñan, Laguna facility the first commercial colocation deployment in Asia of Nortek's StatePoint liquid cooling technology, combined with chillers and fan walls to reach an annualized PUE of 1.193 and WUE of 1.355 despite the Philippines' year-round heat and humidity. Ready for service in March 2023 on East Science Avenue in Laguna Technopark, the purpose-built site was the largest carrier-neutral data center operating in the country at completion, with 5,200 square meters of colocation space, 2,200 cabinets and 10 MW of IT power at 5 kVA per cabinet, on a Tier III-grade design with N+1 UPS and block-redundant standby power. It is triple green-certified — LEED Gold, BERDE and EDGE — and won a 2023 W.Media APAC award for energy-efficiency innovation. Two fiber entry routes, dual meet-me rooms and Digital Edge's EPIX internet exchange serve cloud providers, ISPs, digital media and enterprises; several major domestic ISPs signed on before opening.
