Your facility is in the Coloprice index
1629 facilities from 200 operators in 52 countries, scored 0–100 from published data and verified certificates. The index is independent: we are not a broker for your competitors and no position in it is for sale.
We do not sell places in the ranking
This is the first question every operator asks, so it is answered first. The Coloprice Score is computed by a script from the fields on your facility card and from certificates we could verify against a primary source. Nothing else enters the formula.
- Placing the badge does not change your score. It is a static image served from our side and it is free.
- Advertising, a verified listing or any partnership does not change your score, your rank or your class. They are sold separately and they buy visibility, never points.
- The methodology is published with weights and thresholds. Anyone — including you — can recompute the number from the same card and get the same result.
- We never ask an operator to pay to be added, corrected or removed. Corrections are free and always will be.
If a message you received says otherwise, it did not come from us. Read the full methodology, and see how the project earns money — the answer is advertising, lead generation and paid reports, none of which touch the score.
How to raise the score
The score measures published evidence, not size or brand. 1486 of 1629 facilities publish fewer than four of the seven key fields and only 0 publish all seven, so for most cards the gap to a higher score is data, not engineering.
Seven disclosure fields — 20 points
Transparency is the axis an operator controls completely: publish the field on your own site or spec sheet, send us the link, and the points are added on the next update. Median disclosure across the index is 2 of 7 fields.

620 of 1629 facilities currently carry no class at all — not because they are weak, but because fewer than three of these fields are published anywhere and no certificate is cited. Those cards say “limited data”, and that is the cheapest gap to close.
Resilience — 35 points, and the class of evidence decides
The tier itself is only half of it. The same Tier III scores very differently depending on what backs it: a certified operation counts in full, a certified constructed facility slightly less, a certified design about 60 percent, and a “Tier III” declared on a web page with no certificate cited under half. If you hold an Uptime or TIA-942 certificate, sending the certificate number is usually the single largest jump available to you.
Some operators do not certify on principle — Equinix and several other global platforms run their own internal standards and have no Uptime certificate anywhere in the portfolio. We do not score that as zero: ISO 22301 for continuity and SOC 2 Type II or ISAE 3402 for operations earn partial credit on the same axis. Less than a certified tier, but far from nothing, and it is the correct route for that kind of operator.
Audits — 20 points across families
Certificates are grouped by family so that ten security certificates do not outweigh one continuity audit. Security (ISO 27001, SOC 2, ISAE 3402) is common; continuity (ISO 22301), energy and environment (ISO 50001, ISO 14001, LEED, BREEAM, Green Mark) and sector schemes (HIPAA, HDS, FISMA) are rare and each adds points on its own. List all of them with the issuing body and we will verify what we can.
Scores are recomputed on every build of the site. There is no review committee and no waiting list — once a field lands on the card, the number moves.
Send data for review
Use this form for anything factual: missing fields, a wrong figure, a certificate we did not credit, a facility that changed hands, a decommissioned site. One form for one operator — list several facilities in the same message if that is easier.
Accepted corrections ship with the next update of the index, usually within the same week, and the score is recomputed with them. A source is required — we publish only what a reader can verify, so a figure without a link stays off the card.

The badge
Every facility card has a self-updating SVG badge with its current score, class and rank. It is free, it carries no tracking, and it links back to the facility card where the number is explained.

How to take yours
- Open your facility card in the catalog.
- Expand “Embed score badge” under the score block and copy the snippet — dark and light variants are both available.
- Paste it anywhere: site footer, spec sheet, sales deck. The image is generated on our side, so it stays correct after every recalculation.
The badge shows the current class, whatever it is. We do not offer a version without the number, and taking the badge does not change the number.
What else is free
- Job postings — data center vacancies published on the site at no charge.
- Operator profile — a page for your company with the whole portfolio, sources and aggregate figures.
- Facility card in the catalog: specs, certificates, city market context and links to your own pages.
- Inclusion in the “best of” lists by country, city and category — computed from the score, never sold.
- Open data: the index is published under CC BY 4.0, so you can reuse your own figures and cite them.
Reviews
Customers can publish reviews of a facility or an operator. Reviews are shown next to the score and are deliberately kept out of it: a rating cannot be inflated with reviews and reviews cannot be inflated with a rating.
We check that a review comes from a real customer and remove anything that reads as a competitor attack. If a published review is wrong, write to us — the operator's reply is added to the page.
Questions operators ask
Why is my facility listed without my consent?
The catalog is built from public sources — operator sites, spec sheets, certificate registers, regulator filings and press releases. Every card lists the sources it was built from. That makes it a directory entry rather than a publication of your data, and it is why the fix for a wrong figure is a link to the right one. Corrections and removals are both free, and neither depends on any commercial relationship.
Does buying advertising raise the score?
No. Advertising and verified listings are sold and they buy attention — a banner, a position in a promoted block, a mention in a report. The score is produced by a script from the facility card; there is no field in it for a customer. If points were purchasable, nobody would have a reason to cite the ranking, and citation is the whole business model.
Why does a large operator score below a small one?
Because the score is per facility and counts what is published about that facility. Global platforms often disclose neither MW nor rack counts per site and hold no tier certificate, so they lose points on transparency and resilience even where the engineering is excellent. A 4 MW regional site that publishes all seven fields and holds a certified Tier III will outscore them. That is the intended behaviour, not a defect: the index measures evidence, and evidence is something anyone can add.
How often is the score recalculated?
On every build of the site, so a change to a card moves the score and every rank position with it. The methodology itself is versioned — weights and thresholds change rarely, and when they do the version number changes and the change is documented on the rankings page.
Who runs Coloprice?
Coloprice is published by a registered company with named people behind it, disclosed on the about page along with our sources, our license and how the project makes money. We are not an agency, we do not resell colocation and we hold no commission on any deal between you and a tenant.
How do I get a facility removed?
Send the request through the form or by email from your corporate domain and name the facilities. We remove the card, and with it the score, the rank and the badge. There is no fee, no retention offer and no follow-up sales call. In most cases operators pick a correction instead once they see how the number is built.
