About Rolls-Royce mtu (mtu EnergyPack)

Rolls-Royce Solutions GmbH (mtu, Friedrichshafen) sells battery storage as engineered turnkey systems rather than commodity blocks. The current portfolio is EnergyPack QG — a grid-scale turnkey solution built from Tier 1 components (LFP battery from CATL, PCS, MV transformer, switchgear) in base units of 3–36 MWh and 3–9 MVA, 1–4 h, with mtu EnergetIQ BESS Controller/Manager software and IEC 62443-4-1 cybersecurity certification; EnergyPack QL — a complete AC system in a 40 ft HC container with NCM cells up to 2,084 kWh and 2,000 kVA; and EnergyPack QS — a compact NMC enclosure up to 625 kWh and 400 kVA with internal transformer for off-grid and C&I use. An earlier EnergyPack QM survives only in the reference map. Specification sheets are published for QG, QL and QS,. The QG sheet lists UN38.3, UL 1973, IEC 62619, UL 9540A, NFPA 855, IEC 62933-5-2; QL and QS state only CE conformity. Not disclosed: per-container kWh/kW for QG, cell formats and configurations, DC voltage, cycle life with test conditions (QG quotes 'up to 15,000+ cycles' as a claim), warranty for QL/QS, cooling method for QL/QS, and energy density.
