SO1 is Equinix's first data center in Bulgaria, a five-story reinforced-concrete building in Sofia's Druzhba-1 district. The operator markets the site as carrier-neutral infrastructure positioned to serve customers across the EU, Turkey and the Caucasus, extending Equinix's interconnection footprint into southeastern Europe. Power distribution runs at 230V/400V with 2N UPS redundancy and N+1 generator backup rated for under 30 hours of autonomy at full load; cooling redundancy is N+1. Minimum cabinet density is set at 2kVA, among the lower published figures in Equinix's European portfolio, consistent with an earlier-generation building design. As with most Equinix IBX pages, the operator does not disclose total facility power, floor area or an opening date for SO1; the figures above come from the technical-specification table Equinix publishes for the site. A second building, SO2, on Nedelcho Bonchev Street, gives Equinix a two-site presence in the Sofia metro.
