GZ3 is GDS's third data center in Guangzhou, acquired in April 2018 to sit alongside the company's existing GZ1 and GZ2 facilities in the same part of the city, forming a three-building cluster. GDS designed GZ3 as a purpose-built facility with potential for around 13,000 sqm of total IT area across three phases; at the time of acquisition, only Phase 1 — about 6,600 sqm — had been completed, and GDS reported it as 100% committed to one of its largest cloud and internet customers. GDS said the acquisition would double its total capacity in the Guangzhou market once GZ3 was fully built out, but the company has not published a subsequent update confirming Phase 2 or Phase 3 completion, so only the Phase 1 floor area is treated as confirmed here. No power (MW) figure, tier certification or full street address for GZ3 has been publicly disclosed; GDS describes the site only as being in the same vicinity as GZ1 and GZ2.
