Skygard OSL1

Skygard OSL1 sits in Hovinbyen, an urban-redevelopment district in central Oslo, and is the flagship site of Skygard, a joint venture between Telenor, Hafslund, HitecVision and Analysys Mason Nordic formed in 2024. Telenor is the facility's anchor tenant, giving the site a direct link to Norway's largest telecom operator rather than positioning it purely as a neutral wholesale campus. The building provides 20 MW of capacity across roughly 25,000 sqm and is built to the EN 50600 European data center standard, which Skygard describes as a Tier III-rated design, though this is the operator's own characterization rather than an independent Uptime Institute certification. A distinguishing feature is heat reuse: Skygard states that around 70% of the facility's waste heat is captured and fed into Oslo's district heating system, warming an estimated 12,000 homes, with the operator citing an average PUE below 1.2. As Skygard's most central Oslo building, OSL1 targets enterprise and hyperscale tenants who need proximity to the city rather than the more remote campuses common in the Norwegian market.
