Ooredoo Data Centre — Baushar

Ooredoo Data Centre in Baushar is Ooredoo Oman's flagship colocation facility, built on a hilltop site chosen by the operator for security and flood protection. Construction ran under twelve months using Omani contractors, and the three-storey, 7,000-square-metre building was formally inaugurated on 16 March 2021. It houses 300 pre-installed rack spaces split across two fully isolated data rooms — one operated directly by Ooredoo and the other reserved for its cloud subsidiary data2cloud — with a combined capacity of 2.5 MW. Ooredoo describes the facility as Tier 3, though this is the operator's own characterization rather than a published Uptime Institute or TIA-942 certificate; Uptime Institute's public registry lists no certified facilities in Oman, Bahrain or Kuwait at all. Baushar was the first site in a wider Ooredoo data center push in the sultanate, followed by later builds in Sohar and Salalah, and remains the operator's primary Muscat-area colocation and cloud hosting location.
