</a>This Diamniadio data center, 50 km east of Dakar in Senegal's planned digital-park urban pole, has changed hands and brands twice since it opened in 2017. Built and marketed as "Sen Connect" by Tigo Senegal, then a Millicom subsidiary, it was inaugurated in July 2017 as the first Uptime Institute Tier III Design-certified data center in West Africa's francophone region, on a 15,064 sqm site with capacity for 112 racks. Millicom sold Tigo Senegal in 2018 to Saga Africa Holdings, controlled by Xavier Niel's Free Group, and the operator was rebranded Free Senegal in 2019; after Axian Telecom acquired an 80% stake, the business was rebranded again as Yas in November 2024, and the data center now operates under the Yas name. Neither the current nor prior operator has published updated power-capacity figures for the site since the original 2017 launch. The facility sits near Diamniadio's government-backed digital park and Senegal's separate state-run national data center, giving the metro two large, differently owned facilities within a few kilometers of each other.
