NFD Korea Dangjin AI Campus

NFD Korea has secured the site, construction permits and a 300 MW power supply agreement with state utility KEPCO for a data center campus in Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province, roughly 80 km south of Seoul — a coastal industrial city better known for steelmaking than digital infrastructure. The 43,188 sqm campus is planned as six data center buildings of 50 MW each, delivered in six phases, with the design supporting liquid-cooled racks up to 160 kW to serve AI training and inference workloads rather than general enterprise colocation. NFD Korea has not yet disclosed anchor tenants or total investment value, and construction has not broken ground; the first phase carries a targeted Ready-for-Service date of Q1 2028. If completed as announced, Dangjin would add meaningfully to South Korea's AI-dedicated capacity outside the traditional Seoul metro cluster of Icheon, Pyeongtaek and Incheon, where land and grid connections have grown scarce. The project reflects a broader pattern of Korean data center development pushing toward secondary industrial cities with available KEPCO transmission capacity.
