KINX, the operator of Korea's largest neutral internet exchange, opened its Gwacheon data center on 21 October 2024 in the Gwacheon Knowledge Information Town just south of Seoul — the company's eighth data center overall and, together with its Dogok site in Gangnam, one of only two it owns outright rather than operates as leased colocation space inside other operators' buildings. The site covers a 22,000 square meter plot and launched with 10 MW of IT power capacity, built to Tier III+ redundancy across power, network and cooling with a magnitude-6.9 seismic rating and a target availability of 99.999%. Rack zones range from 3 kW low-power space to 20 kW-plus high-density zones built for AI workloads, and the facility connects directly to KINX's other seven data centers over a dedicated interconnection backbone, letting customers combine Gwacheon capacity with KINX's existing IX peering, cloud on-ramp and transit services elsewhere in the network.
