Thailand's Board of Investment approved this THB 46 billion (about USD 1.4 billion) project on 6 May 2026, one of three data center investments in a wave the agency valued at roughly USD 27 billion. The developer, Skyline Data Center and Cloud Services Co., Ltd., is backed by DAMAC Group, the UAE property and infrastructure conglomerate making its first disclosed move into Thai digital infrastructure through its DAMAC Digital arm, which states that more than 90% of its data centers are designed with liquid cooling to support high-density compute. The site sits in Chachoengsao Province, part of the Eastern Economic Corridor alongside the more established Chonburi and Rayong clusters, an area the BOI has prioritized with tax and investment incentives to draw capacity away from Bangkok's congested core. The approved IT load is 200 MW, positioning the project among the larger single approvals in Thailand's current data center wave, with the BOI's release describing intended use across AI computing, cloud services, enterprise hosting, and large-scale digital workloads. As with most freshly BOI-approved projects, a project-specific cooling architecture, construction timeline and phasing have not yet been disclosed beyond the developer's general liquid-cooling standard; the approval represents regulatory clearance and investment promotion status rather than a groundbreaking.
