Why prices sit where they do

Bahrain's two catalog entries both belong to Batelco (Beyon): the Hamala Data Center, a 2.7 MW Tier III-certified building opened in 2021 as the operator's largest enterprise facility at the time, and the newer White Space Data Centre, a 6,000 sqm building commissioned in November 2025 inside Beyon's 140,000 sqm Data Oasis campus and connected directly to the company's solar park; the newer building's total power capacity is not yet published. EWA's non-domestic tariff runs 22-32 fils/kWh (about $0.058-0.085) depending on monthly consumption, with data center-scale loads clearing the upper threshold within a single billing cycle — placing Bahrain between Qatar's $0.036/kWh and the UAE's $0.110/kWh. Batelco remains the only operator with named, disclosed facilities in the kingdom so far, ahead of Qareeb Data Centers, which leases space as anchor tenant inside the same Data Oasis campus.

Frequently asked questions

How much does colocation cost in Bahrain?

No published wholesale $/kW benchmark exists for Bahrain yet, so we show nothing rather than an estimate. What is verifiable: the catalog tracks 2 facilities here. Run at least three quotes in parallel — where no benchmark is published, individual offers vary far more.

Why is colocation priced the way it is in Bahrain?

Commercial electricity in Bahrain is $0.085 per kWh, and power is the largest single input into a colocation rate. On top of that sit land and grid-connection availability, interconnection density, and how much capacity competes for the same tenants — 2 facilities in our catalog, 0 of them announced or under construction.

Where is colocation cheaper near Bahrain?

On power alone, Qatar ($0.036/kWh), Saudi Arabia ($0.074/kWh) run below Bahrain. Whether that becomes a cheaper contract depends on how much interconnection the workload needs — the comparison table shows what latency the move would cost.
