Wallonie Data Center (WDC)

Wallonie Data Center (WDC) is a carrier-neutral colocation facility in Villers-le-Bouillet, in Belgium's Liège province, roughly midway between Liège and Namur. The site began in 1987 as an internal IT center for steelmaker Cockerill-Sambre and was reorganized into a commercial, multi-tenant data center under the WDC name following a 2006 refurbishment. Win, an IT and telecom integrator within NRB Group, became WDC's majority shareholder in 2013 and has since run a modernization program that included installing more than 1,850 solar panels. The facility spans 3,500 square meters, with 1,250 square meters dedicated to IT hosting, two independently supplied telecoms rooms, and reinforced concrete protection around the server halls. WDC holds ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 management-system certifications and, in November 2025, became the first data center in Wallonia and Brussels to receive an Uptime Institute Tier III Design certification. The operator reports serving close to 100 business, healthcare, education and public-sector clients.
