BTC Sentlhaga Data Center

Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC), the country's state-owned fixed-line and mobile incumbent, operates the Sentlhaga Data Center in Gaborone as the cornerstone of its commercial digital-services push. The roughly 120 sqm white-space facility was Botswana's first Uptime Institute-certified data center, holding a Tier II certification, and is directly connected to BTC's national redundant network backbone. BTC markets Sentlhaga for enterprise ICT hosting, colocation, disaster recovery and hybrid-cloud deployments under its Cloud Connect brand, emphasizing in-country data residency for clients that need to keep data within Botswana rather than route it to regional hubs in South Africa. The company has not published IT power capacity, rack count or a construction year for the site. As Botswana's incumbent telecom operator, BTC's colocation offering competes directly with newer private entrants Orange Botswana and Mascom, both of which built higher-tier facilities in Gaborone after BTC's early move into commercial data-center services.
