AngoNAP Fortaleza is the Brazilian data center of Angola Cables, a submarine-cable consortium majority-owned by Angola Telecom and Unitel. Construction began in 2017 and the site went live in 2019 in the Ceará state capital, a landing point for the SACS cable to Angola and the Monet cable to the US, which makes the facility a natural interconnection hub for traffic crossing the South Atlantic. The building spans roughly 2,100 sqm, and a 2022 expansion raised capacity to about 500 racks and 5 MW of total installed power, with 2N+1 UPS, 2N+1 generator and 2N+1 cooling redundancy. Angola Cables markets the site as carrier-neutral colocation for content and network operators seeking low-latency routes between the Americas, Africa and Europe. The Uptime Institute lists the facility with a Tier III Certification of Design Documents. Angola Cables has separately announced plans to invest up to R$400 million in a second, larger data center nearby at Praia do Futuro, which would become the operator's biggest site globally once built.
