Equinix RJ1 IBX

RJ1 is Equinix's first and largest IBX data center in Rio de Janeiro, located in Botafogo, a mixed commercial and residential district on the city's south side. The 13-story reinforced-concrete building is taller than either of Equinix's other two Rio facilities (RJ2 in Del Castilho and RJ3 in neighboring São João de Meriti), reflecting its role as the anchor site of the metro cluster. Power infrastructure includes one 700 kVA generator on the utility service line and a second, dedicated 700 kVA generator, with UPS redundancy rated N+1 and generator autonomy under 30 hours at full load. Fire suppression uses an FM-200 clean-agent system with aspirated (VESDA-type) detection, and power distribution runs at 120V/208V with a minimum cabinet density of 3kVA — the lowest of the operator's disclosed Brazilian sites, consistent with an older building built to earlier-generation density standards. As with Equinix's other Latin American IBX pages, the company does not publish total facility power, floor area or a public opening date for RJ1; the figures above come from the technical-specification table Equinix maintains for the site.
