Sumaré 3, under construction on Ascenty's existing Sumaré campus in the Campinas region of São Paulo state, is described by the operator as Latin America's first data center designed from inception to support large-scale AI workloads. Announced in mid-2026 as part of a US$1.2 billion, 150 MW package of AI and cloud contracts spanning the Sumaré and Vinhedo campuses, construction had already begun by the announcement date, with first delivery scheduled for the second half of 2027. The site is planned for 90 MW of initial IT capacity across 48,000 m² of built area, with a further 90 MW expansion phase already outlined by Ascenty. The operator says the building incorporates direct-to-chip liquid cooling and other high-density features aimed at global technology clients' AI and advanced-compute deployments. The project is expected to create about 600 construction jobs and 120 permanent roles once operational, adding a fifth building to a Sumaré campus that already houses four earlier Ascenty data centers.
