Why prices sit where they do

Costa Rica's catalog has expanded to seven disclosed sites, still centered on San José. IFX Networks holds the country's most complete Uptime record at CODISA Data Center II (Tier III Design, Constructed Facility and Gold Operational Sustainability) and adds a second San José building, NAP de Centroamérica (Tier III Design), plus the Tier III-design ADN Datacenters site in nearby Alajuela. Independent operator Navégalo runs DC-CR2 as part of a wider Central American network, joined now by Critical Colocation's CR-SJO site, Liberty Costa Rica's Tiribí facility (primarily internal but open to enterprise clients), and Green Data Services' GDS Datacenter in Tilarán, Guanacaste — the only certified site disclosed outside the San José/Alajuela metro area. None of the seven discloses IT power capacity or floor area. Business electricity runs $0.255/kWh (GlobalPetrolPrices, Dec 2025), the highest recorded in Central America here, trading off against a grid close to 100% renewable via state utility ICE.
