Verne's campus in Vantaa, just outside Helsinki, began life as a Ficolo project announced in 2017 with an initial roughly EUR 50 million investment; Ficolo was rebranded to Verne in 2022 after acquisition by Digital 9 Infrastructure, and Verne itself was acquired by investment firm Ardian in 2024. The existing campus covers about 15,000 sqm, and Verne states current site capacity at 70 MW. In 2025 the operator announced a further expansion, acquiring adjacent land from Onvest to add two new buildings targeted for a 2027 launch, with the new construction designed to support liquid cooling for high-density AI and HPC workloads alongside the existing air-cooled halls. The site runs on 100% renewable electricity and, in common with other Helsinki-area operators, feeds recovered waste heat into the district heating network. Verne markets the Vantaa campus as one of the larger independent (non-hyperscaler-owned) data center sites in Finland, distinct from Google's company-operated Hamina facility elsewhere in the country.
