</a>The LEW Green Data Center, built by LEW TelNet — the telecom subsidiary of regional utility Lechwerke AG — in the Oberhausen district of Augsburg, broke ground in August 2023 and brought its first two server rooms online in the second half of 2024. At final build-out the site is planned to reach 1,900 m² of white space across four separate server rooms with capacity for around 600 racks, drawing at least 2 MW. The facility is certified to ISO/IEC 27001 and DIN EN 50600 (availability class 3) by TÜV Süd, with a stated target PUE of 1.2 or below. Cooling relies on evaporative water misting and air-to-air heat exchangers rather than mechanical chillers, waste heat is recovered for district heating, and green roofs and facades are used for passive climate control. Power is drawn from a 2.5 MW rooftop and ground-mounted solar array plus regional hydroelectric supply, and the site won a 2025 Data Center Insider award for "green colocation". LEW does not publish the facility's exact street address or an investment figure.
