T-Systems Biere (Cluster 1)

T-Systems Biere is Deutsche Telekom's data center campus in Saxony-Anhalt, about 20 km south of Magdeburg. It forms a twin-core pair with T-Systems' separate Magdeburg facility roughly 18 km away, mirroring workloads between the two sites for resilience. The current IT production area covers about 11,000 square meters spread across 20 large server rooms, with T-Systems stating the site can expand to as much as 40,000 square meters. Published IT capacity is 18 megawatts, with room engineered for around 100,000 servers. T-Systems operates the campus for both its Private Cloud offering to large enterprise customers and the public Open Telekom Cloud used by smaller businesses, and the company also sells colocation and housing services across its German data center portfolio more broadly. Uptime Institute has awarded the site's Cluster 1 building a Tier III Certification of Design Documents. Security measures include biometric and chip-card access control and motion sensors, and the facility runs under T-Systems' TÜV-certified Zero Outage quality program. The European Commission recognized Biere with its Code of Conduct Award for data center energy efficiency.
