Orión is IFX Networks' newest Guatemalan data center, built in the Naranjo area of Mixco on the outskirts of Guatemala City — the same municipality that hosts KIO Networks' separately owned GTM|1 facility, though Orión sits in a different building. IFX describes the investment at more than $25 million, with a technical floor of roughly 5,000 sqm and more than 1 MW of redundant backup power, operating on a 24x7x365 basis with layered physical and logical security. The Uptime Institute lists the facility, under IFX's Guatemalan legal entity Emerging Networks Guatemala S.A., as Tier III certified for Design Documents. IFX positions Orión as infrastructure for enterprises, systems integrators and public- and private-sector clients that need local operational continuity and low-latency access across Guatemala and the wider Central American market, part of the company's regional footprint of roughly two dozen data centers spanning Latin America. The site adds a third disclosed commercial operator to Guatemala's data center market, alongside KIO Networks and Tigo/Millicom.

  • Inaugurated 2026, over $25 million invested
  • ~5,000 sqm technical floor space, over 1 MW of redundant backup power
  • Uptime Institute Tier III Certification of Design Documents
  • Part of IFX Networks' ~24-data-center Latin American network
