CoreWeave Greater Jakarta AI Cloud Campus

CoreWeave announced on August 4, 2026 that it will own and operate three data center facilities in the Greater Jakarta area, its first data center footprint anywhere in Asia-Pacific. Combined, the three sites are contracted for 360 MW of IT power, with commercial service targeted for 2028. CoreWeave, which built its business supplying GPU cloud capacity to AI labs and hyperscalers out of the US and Europe, said it chose Indonesia over more established regional hubs such as Singapore and Japan on the strength of local demand growth and the country's expanding AI ecosystem, including government-backed sovereign AI initiatives. Exact site addresses, individual building capacities, and cooling design had not been disclosed at announcement; a per-site breakdown of the 360 MW total is expected as construction contracts are finalized. The move follows a broader pattern of AI-cloud specialists and hyperscalers pushing new capacity into Southeast Asia's power- and land-rich secondary markets as Singapore's own supply remains capped, positioning Jakarta alongside Johor Bahru and Batam as a growth node for the region's AI infrastructure buildout.
