EDGNEX Data Centers by DAMAC — Jakarta (Cikarang)

EDGNEX Data Centers, the data center platform of Dubai developer DAMAC, is building a $2.3 billion AI-focused facility on a 50,000 sqm site in Cikarang, Bekasi, part of the Greater Jakarta metro area in West Java. Announced in mid-2025 following a land deal closed in March of that year, the project targets a total of 144 MW of AI-optimized IT capacity, positioning it among the larger single AI campus commitments announced in Indonesia to date. EDGNEX has described the site as entering early construction, with local reporting on a structural topping-out for an initial roughly $150 million phase and a target for phase one to be ready for service by December 2026; DAMAC has not published a detailed phase-by-phase capacity breakdown, cooling design or certification targets. The Cikarang corridor sits within the established Jabodetabek data center cluster in Indonesia alongside existing hyperscale and colocation campuses, giving the site access to fiber routes and power infrastructure already built out for the region. DAMAC frames the investment as part of a broader push to reach over 300 MW of AI-ready data center capacity across Southeast Asia, aiming the Jakarta facility at hyperscale and AI cloud tenants seeking large contiguous blocks of high-density capacity in Indonesia rather than the retail colocation market.
