Equinix OS3

OS3 is Equinix's newest and largest Osaka data center by floor space, a 14-storey seismically isolated building at 2-2-7 Shiromi in Chuo-ku, central Osaka, directly connected to the operator's original OS1 site. Equinix opened the facility on October 20, 2021, with an initial investment of about US$55 million; the first phase brought roughly 900 cabinets and 3,070 sqm online, scaling toward a full build of about 2,500 cabinets across 7,468 sqm. The site carries FISC certification — the Japanese financial-industry security standard — alongside LEED and the operator's standard ISO 9001, 14001, 22301, 27001 and 50001 management-system certificates, PCI DSS and SOC 1/2 Type II attestations, with N+1 power redundancy, N+20% cooling redundancy and a minimum cabinet density of 5kVA. Equinix markets the Osaka campus, Japan's second-largest interconnection hub after Tokyo, to enterprises and network operators wanting business-continuity capacity outside the earthquake and flood-risk profile of the capital.
