Why prices sit where they do
Kuwait's catalog opens with two telecom-operator colocation products in Kuwait City, and Uptime Institute's public registry lists zero certified facilities in the country. Zain Kuwait's Colocation Data Center (CDC) is referenced in the operator's own annual reporting alongside its cloud and hosting business, but Zain does not publish the site's address, power capacity or a Tier certificate. Ooredoo's data center, operated since 2025 under the group's regional infrastructure spin-off Syntys (which also owns Qatar's Q Data QFZ and a Kuwait site), is marketed as "designed and built following Tier III specifications" — an operator claim, not an independent certification. Kalaam Telecom (formerly Zajil) also advertises a Kuwait colocation business, but its site was unreachable for verification. Business electricity runs $0.081/kWh (GlobalPetrolPrices, Dec 2025), among the lowest commercial rates in the Gulf thanks to heavy state subsidy of Kuwait's gas- and oil-fired grid.
