Raxio MZ1 is a second, independently operated data center in Maputo, alongside Digital Realty's existing MPM1 (Maputo One) facility already in the catalog. Developed by Raxio Group — the pan-African data-center platform that also operates sites in Angola, Côte d'Ivoire, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda — the operator's published technical specifications describe a purpose-built, 2,000 m² white-space facility with capacity for 400 racks and 3 MW of IT power, cooled with N+1 resilience and 3 MW of installed cooling provision. Raxio markets the site as the country's first carrier-neutral Tier III data center. The Uptime Institute's award registry lists the facility (client Raxio Data Centre LDA, site "Raxio MZ1") with both a Tier III Certification of Design Documents and a Tier III Certification of Constructed Facility. A separate Uptime-registered facility in the country, Vodacom's Business Matola Data Center in the neighboring city of Matola, holds the same pair of Tier III awards.
