Switch Datacenters AMS4 is located at Treubweg 9-11 in Diemen, between Amsterdam's Science Park and the South East business campus, roughly two miles from the AMS-IX internet exchange. Opened in 2024, the facility offers 7,500 sqm of colocation space with 4,400 sqm of whitespace split across four halls of 1,100 sqm each, totalling 2,300 racks. The building reuses a refurbished steel-frame structure and former concrete slab to reduce embodied carbon. Power is delivered through 2x10 MVA utility feeders (with a 2x20 MVA upgrade path) in a distributed-redundant N+1 UPS configuration, supporting 15-18 MW of Tier III+ IT capacity at 5.0-22 kVA per cabinet; standby generation reaches up to 42,750 kVA. Cooling combines dry coolers with water-cooled chillers and free cooling, and excess heat is captured for a local heat grid serving the municipality of Diemen. The site runs on 100% renewable energy and holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 27001 certification, with PCI DSS readiness.
