Groningen 2 is the newer of NorthC's two buildings on the Westpoort business park in Groningen, sharing a combined 2.7 MW of installed electrical capacity and roughly 5,300 sqm of space with its neighbouring Groningen 1 building — NorthC does not break the figures out per building. What sets this site apart is its emergency power system: NorthC describes it as one of the first data centers in Europe to back up mains power with green hydrogen fuel cells instead of diesel generators. The campus carries ISO 27001, 9001, 14001 and 22301 certification alongside PCI DSS and SOC 2 Type II attestations, and its proximity to the Eemshaven subsea cable landing station gives tenants direct reach to AMS-IX and DE-CIX peering. The building also houses ODC-Noord, a government-linked data center function, on the same site. As with the rest of NorthC's Dutch portfolio, the operator states the facility is built to Tier III-equivalent design standards rather than holding a certified Uptime rating.
