The Sifiso Dabengwa Data and Cloud Centre, unveiled by MTN Nigeria on 1 July 2025, is described by the operator as Nigeria's and West Africa's largest prefabricated modular data centre. The facility is named after MTN's late group CEO Sifiso Dabengwa. Phase One delivers 4.5 MW of Tier III IT capacity, confirmed by Uptime Institute's Tier III Certification of Design Documents and Tier III Certification of Constructed Facility, at a cost of about $120 million that also covered a bundled cloud infrastructure deployment built with Dell Technologies. MTN group CEO Karl Toriola has described the completed site as using 96 prefabricated modular containers spread across three floors, with a total rack capacity of roughly 1,500, and fully modular power and cooling systems designed for fast, repeatable scaling. MTN has committed over $240 million in total to the project, with a second 4.5 MW phase planned to bring the completed campus to 9 MW of IT capacity. The centre is located in Ikeja, the administrative and commercial hub of Lagos State.
