Panama Digital Gateway occupies the Corozal district of Panama City, built as a joint venture between Telecom Italia Sparkle (the TIM Group's international carrier arm) and local operator Trans Ocean Network under the corporate entity Panama Digital Gateway S.A. The facility is designed around five modules totalling up to 5,500 sqm of building space, roughly 650 standard-rack equivalents, with up to 3.5 MW of UPS-backed, generator-supported power. Sparkle built the site as the Panama landing point for the Curie submarine cable system, the Google-developed route linking California to Chile with a branching unit into Panama, positioning the data center as a connectivity hub for operators routing traffic through the isthmus. The Uptime Institute has certified the facility at Tier III for both Design Documents and Constructed Facility. Sparkle's own materials describe the site as designed to strict anti-seismic criteria and built around energy-efficient power and cooling systems, with the operator separately pursuing ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, with Phase 1 of that process complete. It is marketed as an open, carrier-neutral colocation facility aimed at operators expanding across Central America.
