Announced in November 2024, SG6 is Equinix's sixth Singapore IBX and the first in the country designed from the ground up for AI and high-performance computing rather than general colocation. The nine-storey building is being developed with an initial investment above US$260 million and will scale to more than 20 MW of critical power at full build, with liquid cooling engineered in to support the dense racks that AI training and inference workloads require. The project was allocated under Singapore's Data Centre Call for Application (DC-CFA) pilot, the government's mechanism for granting new data-center capacity in a power-constrained market, and Equinix has said the site will run on renewable energy once operational. SG6 is targeted to open in the first quarter of 2027 alongside the operator's existing five-site Singapore campus (SG1–SG5). No address, floor area or certification has been published yet.
