SL2x is Equinix's first xScale data center in South Korea, developed through the operator's joint venture with Singapore's GIC and built at 69 Hyangdong-ro in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, a satellite city in Gyeonggi-do roughly 20 km northwest of central Seoul. The ten-storey, seismically isolated building was scheduled to open in 2024 and is designed to provide 22 MW of power capacity for hyperscale cloud and content platforms seeking large single-tenant deployments rather than retail colocation. It sits adjacent to SL3x, a second xScale building on the same campus referenced on Equinix's site but without its own published facility page yet, and hosts the smaller retail IBX SL4 within the same complex. SL2x carries ISO 9001, 14001, 22301 and 27001 certifications alongside PCI DSS and SOC 1/2 Type II attestations, N+20% cooling redundancy and Novec gas fire suppression. It connects back to Equinix's original Seoul retail site, SL1, in Sangam-dong, roughly 20 km away.
