EDCBCN01, marketed by EdgeConneX as BCM01, is the operator's first Spanish data center, located in Sant Boi de Llobregat on the southwestern edge of metropolitan Barcelona. EdgeConneX builds carrier-neutral Edge facilities close to major population centers to shorten the last mile for content and cloud traffic, and the Barcelona site follows that template: an 8.4 MW facility spanning roughly 7,600 sqm, designed to bring colocation and interconnection capacity closer to Catalonia's largest market rather than relying solely on the established core in Madrid. The facility carries ISO 27001, PCI DSS and SOC 2 Type 2 attestations. Local registration records list the operating entity as ECX Sant Boi de Llobregat Barcelona S.L.U., EdgeConneX's Spanish subsidiary. The Barcelona facility extends EdgeConneX's European Edge network, which spans dozens of metros from Amsterdam to Warsaw, into a metro area not otherwise served by the operator's core hyperscale campuses elsewhere in the country.
