Münchenstein (Basel) 1 is NorthC's largest and oldest Swiss facility, part of a small campus the operator runs on Weidenstrasse in the Münchenstein economic zone just outside Basel. The site is rated at 6 MW of installed capacity across roughly 3,500 sqm and carries ISO 27001 certification, alongside the operator's own "built to Tier 3 standards" design claim rather than a certified Uptime Institute rating. Power comes entirely from Swiss hydroelectric sources, and NorthC reuses waste heat from the facility, a pattern repeated across its other Swiss sites in Biel and Winterthur, all three of which are linked by a shared backbone network. The campus works with the neighbouring uptownBasel innovation hub, positioning the site within a wider technology and life-sciences cluster. NorthC operates a second, smaller building on the same street (Münchenstein 2) explicitly as a backup location for this facility, and is building a third Swiss site nearby in Arlesheim, expected to come online in 2027.
