Stratus Technology Rayong

Thailand's Board of Investment approved Stratus Technology Co., Ltd.'s plan for a Tier 3-spec data center in the CPGC Industrial Estate in Rayong province, southeast of Bangkok, at a board meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Pichai Chunhavajira. The BOI singled it out as the largest single project cleared at that session, worth 23.7 billion baht (roughly $650-700 million), and pegged the design IT load at approximately 203 MW, which would rank it among the larger campuses in Southeast Asia if built as planned. Stratus Technology is an affiliate of China's ZDATA Technologies, a group that has been expanding aggressively into Thailand's BOI-backed data center pipeline alongside a separate 80 MW project under its Vistas Technology unit in Chonburi. Rayong sits within Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor, an industrial and logistics zone southeast of Bangkok that has drawn a cluster of data center investment thanks to grid capacity and proximity to the deep-water Laem Chabang and Map Ta Phut ports. No construction start date or completion timeline has been published; the project remains at the BOI-approval stage.
