Ark Data Centers Akron

Ark Data Centers, the company formerly known as Involta before a 2024 rebrand, runs this two-building colocation campus in Akron, Ohio. The older Akron I hall is the operator's third-generation design, while the newer Akron II hall — including the Data Hall C addressed in its Uptime Institute award — is a fourth-generation facility that earned Tier III Certification of both Design Documents and Constructed Facility. Combined, the two buildings offer more than 52,000 sq ft of space, with each providing roughly 10,000 sq ft and 300 racks of colocation capacity at about 1 MW of power. Akron II uses Liebert DSE cooling units with EconoPhase economization plus N+1 CRAC units, overhead cooling with DataSox ducting, and hot/cold aisle containment; Akron I relies on N+1 chillers with waterside economization and N+1 CRACs. The site carries a broad compliance stack aimed at regulated industries — SOC 2, PCI DSS, NIST, ITAR and HITRUST attestations plus a 2023 ENERGY STAR certification — and is marketed for private or shared colocation, dedicated suites and halls, plus storage and office space for third-party customers.
