Cooling uses an air-cooled design with evaporative condensing cooling towers backed by an 800-ton air-cooled chiller plant running N+2 per data hall, switching to free cooling below 30°F and consuming no water for cooling. CHI1 and CHI2 hold Green Globe 3 Globes certification, and the campus supports up to 17 kW per cabinet. CME Group runs its trading platform out of CHI2, giving the site a financial-services anchor tenant alongside its general enterprise and hyperscale customer base. CyrusOne reports the campus runs on 98% carbon-free or renewable electricity. Physical security includes biometric readers for data hall access and four secure semi-truck loading docks, with an on-site NOC supporting remote hands.
