Announced in July 2026, this is the second data center campus Crusoe has developed with Lancium, following the same build-own-operate model established at their Abilene, Texas site. Lancium owns the 270-acre site in Childress, Texas and manages the surrounding energy infrastructure, while Crusoe designs, builds and operates the data center itself. The companies describe a planned 1.0 gigawatt of capacity for what they call only "a leading hyperscale technology company," without naming the tenant. Construction was expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026. The design follows Crusoe's standard approach at its other campuses: a water-efficient, closed-loop liquid cooling system paired with on-site energy storage resources. Crusoe projects thousands of construction jobs and more than 100 permanent positions once the site is operational. As with the company's other recent Texas announcements, no completion date or first-energization milestone has been published, and the tenant's identity is not disclosed in the primary announcement.

  • 1.0 GW planned campus on a 270-acre Lancium-owned site in Childress, TX
  • Second Crusoe/Lancium build-own-operate site after Abilene
  • Tenant undisclosed — described only as "a leading hyperscale technology company"
  • Closed-loop liquid cooling; construction targeted to start Q3 2026
