Compass Datacenters acquired a 200-acre parcel at 850 S Bullard Ave in Goodyear, Arizona, in January 2019 to build its first Phoenix-market campus, breaking ground on the first two buildings that July with completion targeted for the fourth quarter of the same year. Arizona Public Service worked with Compass on power delivery for the site, which sits next to a dedicated 230kV substation and has access to three diverse fiber paths. The initial two buildings deliver a combined 72 MW of IT load as part of a first-phase master plan of 144 MW, with Compass citing room to expand the campus toward 212 MW of total planned capacity as demand grows. Goodyear was Compass's entry point into the Phoenix market, later followed by a second, smaller campus in nearby El Mirage; the operator markets both sites to hyperscale, cloud and enterprise customers drawn to Arizona's proximity to West Coast tech hubs, but has not published third-party certifications for the Goodyear buildings.
