Compass Meridian Campus

Compass Datacenters broke ground in early 2025 on a campus in the I-20/59 Industrial Park near Meridian, Mississippi, planned as eight data center buildings of roughly 40 MW of IT load and 250,000 sq ft each, for a total of about 320 MW across the site. Mississippi Power has committed to supplying approximately 500 MW to the development to leave headroom for the campus's power needs, and the Mississippi Development Authority has certified Compass as a data center operator, unlocking a ten-year state income and franchise tax exemption plus sales and use tax exemptions on construction materials and equipment. State and local officials put the project's investment at roughly $10 billion at full build-out, including tenants' own IT equipment, with construction phased over approximately eight years. The announcement frames Meridian as one of the largest hyperscale developments in the Southeast, but Compass has not disclosed individual tenants, a completion date for the first building, or any third-party certification for the campus.
