DC BLOX's Myrtle Beach facility, opened in October 2023, was the first subsea cable landing station built in South Carolina. Positioned on the coast between existing landing points in Florida and Virginia Beach, it gives subsea cable operators a new entry into the Southeast's growing hyperscale market and connects onward via DC BLOX's dark-fiber route to Atlanta. The station is designed at full build-out for 125,000 sq ft and 19 MW of power (currently around 40,000 sq ft built out), with capacity for up to five subsea cable systems — three of the five slots were reserved as of the operator's latest disclosure, two by Google and one by Meta. Construction is rated to withstand a category 5 hurricane and 170 mph winds, and the facility is engineered to Uptime Institute Tier III concurrently-maintainable standards with SOC 2 Type II and NIST 800-171 compliance. In October 2025 DC BLOX announced plans to acquire roughly 20 adjacent acres within the Myrtle Beach International Technology and Aerospace Park to add up to five more subsea cable slots and another 20 MW of power.
