Google Papillion

Papillion, just south of Omaha, is one of three Nebraska communities — alongside Omaha and Lincoln — where Google operates data centers, together anchoring more than $15 billion the company has invested in the state since 2019. In 2023 Google announced $1.2 billion in new Nebraska investment to support growth across all three sites. Power for the Nebraska campuses draws in part on the High Banks Wind Energy Center, online since December 2023 through a capacity agreement with utility OPPD, and Google has separately backed a 420 MW solar-plus-680 MWh battery storage project in Pierce County, expected online in 2027, to add further clean generation to the state grid. Google has also committed to replenishing 120% of the water its Nebraska operations consume, including funding conversion of 1,000 acres from flood to micro-irrigation systems in the Platte River Basin. No power-capacity figure, building count or floor area specific to the Papillion site has been published.
