QTS Richmond 1 occupies a 207-acre campus in Sandston, Virginia, just east of Richmond, and is described by the operator as the largest and most connected data center campus in the area. Five buildings (DC1–DC5) are in current use, with a sixth master-planned, totalling 2.3 million sq ft of space and 238 MW of published capacity — making it the single largest facility in QTS's US portfolio by that measure. The campus draws on an on-site solar power system and sits near an undersea cable landing station, giving it international connectivity alongside its regional reach. QTS states the buildings are LEED Gold certified. As with the rest of QTS's post-Blackstone build-out, Richmond 1 is positioned as wholesale, hyperscale-oriented capacity rather than retail colocation, with room to expand as demand grows.
