Vantage Shackelford County Campus (Frontier)

Vantage's Frontier campus occupies 1,200 acres in Shackelford County, Texas, a rural stretch a few hours' drive from both Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin and close to Abilene Regional Airport. The operator has announced a planned 1.4 GW of critical IT load across ten single-story data centers and 3.7 million sq ft of space, making it easily the largest campus in Vantage's global portfolio by disclosed capacity. Design targets rack densities up to 1.4 kW/sq ft, with ultra-high-density options above 250 kW per rack, and cooling combines conventional air-cooled chillers with liquid-to-liquid systems built for GPU-class workloads. The site runs N+1 redundancy across mechanical and electrical systems, with three meet-me-rooms per building and multiple diverse fiber paths. Vantage says it is pursuing LEED certification for the campus and has committed to net-zero carbon emissions by 2030. The first data center is scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2026, with construction status reflecting the very early stage of what is presented as a purpose-built AI-scale campus rather than a conventional colocation site.
