Viettel broke ground on the An Khánh Data Center in Hoài Đức district, Hanoi, on 19 August 2025, timed to coincide with Vietnam's 80th National Day, as one of two national key technology projects alongside a new Viettel R&D center. The 1.9-hectare site carries a total investment of VND 17.5 trillion (about $665 million) and is designed for 60 MW of power, which Viettel says will make it the largest data center in northern Vietnam on completion. The facility targets Uptime Institute Tier III standards, a five-layer physical security system, and what Viettel describes as modern, sustainable cooling aligned with the government's Net Zero commitment, alongside integration of Viettel's own AI software stack. A topping-out ceremony for the main technical building was held on 27 January 2026, with Phase 1 targeted to enter service in Q2 2026; Viettel's roadmap calls for upgrading the site into the company's second hyperscale data center by 2030.
