The Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) Management Board approved CMC Corporation's investment in the CMC Hyperscale DC SHTP at the end of June 2025, backing a project valued at more than US$250 million in eastern Ho Chi Minh City. The facility launches with 30 MW of initial IT capacity and CMC has published a scalability path to 120 MW as demand grows, positioning it as one of the larger hyperscale-class sites under development in Vietnam outside the established Hanoi cluster. CMC is pitching the site as infrastructure for Ho Chi Minh City's planned "AI Heart" district, delivering AI-as-a-Service, cloud, big data and cybersecurity services on next-generation networking including XGS-PON, SD-WAN, SASE and an 800G DWDM optical transport backbone. The operator says the design incorporates renewable-energy integration and Digital Twin monitoring aimed at an international-standard green data center benchmark, and the project is tied to a broader collaboration between CMC, the Ho Chi Minh City government and the C4IR Vietnam Center, part of the World Economic Forum's Fourth Industrial Revolution network. CMC already operates a smaller facility in Tan Thuan, Ho Chi Minh City; SHTP represents its move into hyperscale-class capacity as Vietnam courts AI compute investment following a wave of foreign hyperscaler announcements.
