ME2 is Equinix's largest data center in Melbourne, an adjacent building to the original ME1 site at 578 Lorimer Street in Port Melbourne, serving Australia's second-largest digital economy. The five-storey precast-concrete facility provides 8,172 sqm of colocation space with N+2 cooling redundancy — higher than ME1's N+1 — and carries LEED certification alongside Equinix's standard ISO 9001, 14001, 22301, 27001 and 50001 management-system certificates, PCI DSS and SOC 1/2 Type II attestations. Equinix markets the Port Melbourne campus around interconnection density rather than raw scale, positioning ME2 for carriers, cloud providers and enterprises that need access to the operator's global platform from Melbourne rather than a standalone wholesale hall. No opening year, power capacity or rack count has been published for the site. Together with ME1, and the smaller ME4 and ME5 facilities elsewhere in metropolitan Melbourne, ME2 anchors Equinix's four-site Melbourne portfolio.
