Redbank is IREN's proposed second Australian campus, planned for the Gregadoo area on the southern edge of Wagga Wagga in New South Wales, west of the Gregadoo Waste Management Centre. The Nasdaq-listed AI cloud provider presented it to the local community in mid-October 2026 as a 900 MW development with proposed investment above AU$10 billion, staged over six to eight years and aiming for first energisation in 2029. IREN states the project is in an early assessment phase and is not part of its announced 5 GW secured-power portfolio; no final grid connection agreement has been announced. The company plans to connect to the existing high-voltage network at its own cost and contract new generation and storage for the load, and to use a closed-loop cooling system with minimal top-up water. A scoping report for the NSW planning department was expected at the end of October 2026, the first step toward an environmental impact statement. The site sits close to CDC Data Centres' separately proposed 1.4 GW Wagga Wagga campus, forming a regional cluster of proposals rather than secured demand.
