LCL, an independent Belgian data center operator, built its Brussels-West campus in Aalst, roughly 25 km northwest of central Brussels in East Flanders — geographically a satellite site but marketed by LCL as part of its Brussels-area portfolio alongside Brussels-North (Diegem) and Brussels-South (Huizingen). The Aalst site holds two buildings totaling around 1,950 sqm of space, with a second building brought into operation following LCL's original launch. In August 2021, the constructed facility became the first data center in Belgium to hold an Uptime Institute Tier III Certification of Constructed Facility, building on the Tier III Design Certification LCL obtained in 2019. LCL invested €15.5 million in the site, including land reserved for future expansion. The facility also carries ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certifications along with ISAE 3000 and ISAE 3402 Type II assurance reports, reflecting LCL's positioning toward regulated financial-sector and enterprise customers.
